Mary Wiese

Welcome!

Mary Wiese

For starters, I was born in Waco , TX (we won’t mention the year!), but my family moved to Dallas , TX , when I was four years old. I learned my secretarial skills at Draughon’s Business College in Dallas . In 1971, I moved to Albuquerque and instantly felt at home here.

Some of the companies I have been employed with ‘in the secular world’ include an insurance broker, an architectural firm, and then the banking industry in Albuquerque for 20 years. After the First Interstate Bank was sold, I worked for seven years at the Motorola plant in Albuquerque in their Human Resources Dept. When Motorola was closed, I felt it was the right opportunity to fulfill my dream of working for the church. Just at the right time, and after praying for guidance, an advertisement for a position here at Faith appeared in the newspaper, and the rest, as they say, is history. Being a lifelong Lutheran, I of course jumped at the opportunity to serve at Faith. I began my employment in November 1998. It was the first time I had been interviewed by five people at once… which was scary, but since Faith hired me anyway, God must have wanted me to use my skills and talents for the church.

I am a happy single who has never married. My parents and I bought a house together a few years ago and live in Rio Rancho. I have one brother who lives in Albuquerque . The whole family deserted Texas for New Mexico , with no regrets. We love the weather and the people!

In Adult Ministry, I assist my fellow workers Pastor Mike Easton , the Pastor of Discipleship, and Kirsten Wilder , Lay Ministry, with discovering the skills and talents, hopes and dreams of those who enter through this church’s doors to learn about Jesus Christ and His saving grace. We in the Adult Ministry area promote and support several small group studies, social and learning activities for those involved in Keenagers (our veteran servants of Christ), Men’s Breakfast, Dinner Out 50+, Women’s Brunch, Men’s Friday Breakfast, Dorcas Needlework Group, Promise Keepers, Faith Quilters, Sunday School classes, and many other assemblies of Christians and seekers in our midst.

I praise God that I have been privileged to serve within this congregation and in this house of worship for the past seven years. I wholeheartedly invite you to come to worship, to learn, and to find friends in Christ at Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque.
