29 In today's lesson, Paul encourages the reader to remain free by avoiding
worldly teachings and traditions, especially religious ones. Trusting Christ to complete the work he has begun in them is the better alternative to legalism. Religious piety may seem to be the most direct route to holiness but it is no substitute for life in the Spirit.
